Material of Monture

Where fabric meets intent

Every fabric is chosen to balance comfort, durability and timeless appeal — so each piece looks refined and feels exceptional.

The Fabrics
The Material Index

Six fabrics. One discipline.

A deliberately short list. Each cloth is chosen for how it behaves in Indian heat — and how it ages.

Supima Cotton, Silk Finished
01 — The Fabric

Supima Cotton, Silk Finished

Cotton elevated to silk.

SmoothStructuredRefined

Supima is an extra-long staple cotton known for strength, durability and refined softness. It provides structure without heaviness and smoothness without shine.

Longer fibres give a smoother surface. Greater tensile strength gives longevity. Cleaner yarn gives a refined drape.

Traditional cotton jersey can feel flat. We wanted cotton that behaves closer to silk — fluid, elevated, tactile.

Why it matters

This is not basic cotton. It is cotton elevated — built to hold its shape and soften rather than tire.

Cotton · Tencel™ · Silk
02 — The Fabric

Cotton · Tencel™ · Silk

Blending with intention — not dilution.

LuminousBreathableComposed

Each fibre solves a specific structural requirement. Together they achieve what no single fibre can — structure, movement, and refinement in one surface.

Moisture regulation, enhanced softness, and a subtle luminosity without gloss.

Pure cotton can feel dense. Pure Tencel can feel overly fluid. Pure silk lacks structure. Blended, the fabric feels engineered rather than accidental.

The 65 / 30 / 5 blend

Our house cloth. Cotton for structure, Tencel™ for fluidity, a trace of silk for light — barely there, entirely felt.

Hemp
03 — The Fabric

Hemp

Nature, in its strongest form.

BreathableStructuredEarthy

Hemp is a long-staple bast fibre known for strength, breathability and natural texture. It provides structure without heaviness and airflow suited to warm climates.

Controlled refinement softens the raw fibre while retaining its character and durability.

Reduces density without sacrificing structure. Transitional — not seasonal. Character that builds over time.

Bamboo–Hemp blend

Bamboo offers smooth drape and breathability; hemp offers natural strength and longevity. Blended, the result falls naturally — but never looks careless.

European Linen
04 — The Fabric

European Linen

Heritage shaped to belong.

ArchitecturalHeritageHonest

Linen is heritage. But heritage without structure feels careless. We select European-grown linen for its fibre length, tensile strength and how it behaves when tailored.

Natural temperature control, structural integrity across seasons, and a surface that softens over time without losing composure.

We do not use linen as a seasonal fabric. We use it as an architectural base.

Why it matters

This is not casual linen. This is linen shaped to belong to Monture.

Heritage Cotton–Linen Denim
05 — The Fabric

Heritage Cotton–Linen Denim

Tailoring expressed through denim.

DisciplinedBreathableTransitional

Traditional denim is often built for weight and rigidity. We wanted breathability without losing authority. Linen introduces air flow, texture and seasonal intelligence.

We are not interested in distressed denim. We are interested in disciplined denim.

Why it matters

By introducing linen, the fabric gains character and dimension — and the wearer gains comfort.

Bamboo–Hemp
06 — The Fabric

Bamboo–Hemp

Softness without fragility.

FluidStrongNatural

We required softness without fragility. Fluidity without collapse. Bamboo offers smooth drape and breathability. Hemp offers natural strength and longevity.

Controlled softness with structural clarity — it falls naturally, and carries presence without shouting.

Pure bamboo can feel overly fluid. Pure hemp can feel rigid. We blend to create controlled softness and structural clarity.
